this film i seen years ago,its about a jewish man and woman who are in love,they are taken to a jewish prison camp during the war,the camp is run by an evil german commander,the man and woman are seperated in the camp and only really see each other in the distance.The evil german commander takes a fancy to the woman and gives her a lot of attention,the only other memory of this film is probably the most important and will hopefuly jog someones memory,that is of the ending to this film which blew me away,i found it unforgetable,as i was saying before that the man and woman were seperated in the camp,they were still seperated when the war ended,the man tried everything to track the woman down,eventually he found her address,i will never forget him going up the stairs and chapping the door,his world caved in when the door was opened by a young man with blonde hair who looked identical to the evil german commander,obviously the german commanders son,has any one any memories of this film which could help me,many thanks.

After searching a couple of leads,i have came up with a film called MAX AND HELEN 1990,could anyone confirm this as being the film or is it similar? many thanks.
