Computer Problem
5 Answers
I am having great difficulty in getting my computer to start. It will very rarely start at the first time of asking and more often than not it will take 5 or 6 attempts before it goes on and stays on. Has anyone got any ideas?

When I first switch it on in the morning the screen usually goes black before the black and white text has finished and as the computer will not switch off by the usual means I have to pull the plug out. I then re-insert the plug and the computer comes on without me having to do anything else. This time the screen will stay on for a little longer but will then go black. I keep going through the same procedure and usually advance a little further each time until finally it stays on.
Hope this information helps

Depending how far it gets through, sounds as though it could be a power supply or heat issue.
If possible make sure the fan vents are blocked up by dust, and if you feel brave enough open it up and clean the processor fan (making sure to not touch anything inside at all, and occasionally touching the metal case to earth yourself).
