Can Commercial vehicles park on residential roads, especially when they use a large section of pavement and obscure views?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You are not supposed to obstruct a footpath in any vehicle and you are not supposed to park within 30 feet of any junction, but I have never heard of either of these rules being upheld by the Police. If you mean in general, an HGV can park anywhere as long as it is within the laws for that road (as with any other vehicle). The exception to this, is that they cannot park there for their weekly rest (usually the weekend). For this they must park at either their operating centre (usually a haulage yard or similar) or a recognised truck park.
