why do flys fly around in squares ????

I think flys have learned how to use some sort of huyper space.
I had one flying round my living room and as I watched it vanished in mid air.

I always thought it was because they were hard wired and could not work out how to avoid corners.... well, you must admit, they are not very bright, are they ? they do keep bashing into window glass after all.........

because they are doing the fox trot while flying.

actually I think its a diversionary tactic to throw off enemies, sudden change in direction makes them harder to catch
