Hi

I am trying to change the cambelt on my 1999 1.8 Zetec Mondeo. But cannot see any markings on the cam shaft pully apart from 3 indents.

I have seen about using a timing pin to line up, how does this work as there is nothing in the haynes manual about this.

Thanks in advance

Line up mark on crank pulley, remove cambox cover, there is a slot runs along the rear end of the cams, you can insert a piece of flat bar into them locking them against the top surface of the cambox.
you can buy a locking tool which slots in between the 2 camshaft pulleys, reg the crankshaft one or 2 ive done in the past have had a webbed end which the pulley sits on and dont have a mark as such but need to be marked yourself.
