Masters + funding or scholarships

Hi,

I'm sitting an MArch in Sweden and I'm funding this myself with some difficulty. My local education board does not fund MA's or Phd's , nor does the Swedish system cater for foreigners.

Does anyone know of any scholarships/bodies that an individual can apply to? I come from the UK.

I'm not sure if this applies to you, but there was an article in the Guardian Education section, 9 Oct. 04, which said: "it's not just 16-year-olds who can benefit from government education subsidies - mature students can get loans worth up to �5,000 a year.  Yet the take up figures show that most are clearly unaware of their entitlement.   A mature student is eligible for a loan if they are under the age of 55 on the first day of the first academic year of the course.  And they have to convince local education authority officials that their intention is to seek paid employment after graduation." etc. etc. (sorry it's too long to copytype all of it).  There was a tel. no. 08456 077 577 Student Loans Company's Customer Suppot Office.  I have to say that when I called them for info., they fobbed me off with a suggestion to look at the website: www.studentfinancedirect.co.uk/dfes.gov.uk/studentsupport.
