Ipod - hidden tracks

Can anyone tell me how to deal with hidden tracks when I upload from CD to itunes/ipod?  I want to include the hidden track but theres a really long gap between the last song and the hidden one which is really annoying when I'm listening to my ipod.  There must be a way for me to edit out the gap but I don't know how.

I manually edit the song using the program goldwave to delete the silence and then separate it in to 2 songs. There's probably an easier way but this works for me.

Nah, that's the only way to do it. You need some kind of sound editing program that's advanced wnough to handle mp3 files or wmas.
