Wallcovering

I have just finished getting the manky wallpaper off my kitchen walls only to find that there is a sort of wood effect plastic stuff stuck on underneath! No wonder it took me ages to get the wallpaper off,,,I think it was superglued on. Any suggestions what I can use to shift the wood effect stuff as my scraper etc is not touching it.

Easy to hang too, because there are no patterns to match. When this second layer is dry, you can emulsion - but I don't know how many coats or whether it would be better to use the *one coat* type of emulsion.
Is that what you meant, carrust ?
