Dryrot - how is it treated ?

Hi There

Any builder type folk out there who may know the answer to this one...

Please can anyone advise me how dryrot would be treated in a property i.e is it sprayed ?

This answer would be useful in an ongoing dispute I have with my landlord who is claiming a powder which was found under the carpets and along the skirting boards was used to treat dryrot - have been trawling the net, but can find no references to dryrot being treated with a powder form.

(We think the powder was actually used to try and treat a bedbug infestation).

You used to have to cut back all timber 1 m from last bit of dry rot and thenspray all remaining timber.

Snow...................I wish I could be of more help, but............BORON is often used against dry rot, and it comes in powder form. It's mixed with water and sprayed.

Hi The Builder - thanks for your answer. How would this look once applied/dried ? Would this leave a powder residue (as if someone had liberally applied a lot of insectiside powder).

no, not at all Snowangel.................once mixed with water and sprayed, it just dries and leaves nothing............so, unless he spilt a load of it, you wouldn't see anything........ :o)
