kick start vs. pull start

does anyone know how a pull start on a (chainsaw / motorbike) works and if i can replace it with a kickstart? and where i can get one from

The pull start will spin the engine several times on one pull. This is helpful as you don't need to find top dead centre. A kick start has a limited range of travel and may prove difficult to start as it would not spin the engine through as many cycles

oic .. its just that i'm tired of pulling the string on my mini moto. i would prefer it if i could swap it out and put on a proper motorbike kickstart.
