got me curious.
Do people believe in programs like Britains most haunted, and Ghost hunters? I thought people watch this for a laugh but aparently not. Surely people can't believe in ghost these days.

I am not saying you or I are right or wrong, I believe we have similar debates on my religion, but apparently it is ok for you to tell me Im delusional whereas you are not. How many millions believe in God? It is a null argument.
Anyway, I was only asserting my own viewpoint as exactly that my own viewpoint, but if you wish to get on your high horse and ride yourself to Banbury Cross, then please go ahead.

Octavius, Why do you assume any point I made was a personal attack or ridicule?
Well I kinda get that idea when you say things like I dont agree that humans can see them (of course, I know you do). Mmm you have to wonder what that means, dont you?
Yes, many millions do believe in God, but theyve never seen him have they? According to the bible, its against the rules - so it isnt a null argument.- its a totally different scenario. Apart from that, it surely could be considered more delusional to believe in something that no one, throughout time immemorial, has ever seen.
Im not on a high horse - Im merely addressing your irrational conclusion.

.....
Yes I know that you [are of the opinion that humans can, and] do.
There are also millions of people that claim they see the Virgin Mary and have claim to see God, and millions of people who have never seen a ghost. I don't get how your argument for those people who claim to have seen a ghost stacks up, where others don't.
As I said, its just a different viewpoint and I accept you have yours - yet mine is an irrational conclusion because it disagrees with yours??

Octavius, I'm not saying it's irrational because your opinion disagrees with mine. It's irrational because since you have never seen one, you automatically assume that it's impossible that anyone else has ever seen one.
Perhaps those who claim to see the Virgin Mary are, in fact, seeing a ghost. Jesus and the disciples saw a very definite ghost - Moses - who we know had been long dead. (Can't say Elijah was a ghost, as we have no record of his death. He was just whooshed up into heaven on a whirlwind while he was still alive).

I'm being thick here. I'm not getting why it's perfectly possible for ghosts to exists but incon
People have claimed throughout history to have seen, heard and been touched by God. And the Virgin Mary. And relgious gatherings have simulatenously witnessed apparitions of Jesus and seen the sun spinning from the sky.
Why does these people's testimony carry any less weight than people who believe they have seen ghosts?
(Not that I believe in either.)

Quinlad, What's 'incon'?
I'm not sure whether you're talking to me, or to Octavius, since he's the one who denies that ghosts can be seen, and you're asking about people who see 'visions' (for want of a better word). However, I'll give you my answer.
These people's testimonies don't necessarily carry less weight, which is the point I was making about Moses. However, since we have nothing to tell us what Mary or Jesus looked like, the people who claim to see them have no way of recognising them, and therefore no one can ever be sure what or who they are seeing.
In the case of Moses, however, he did, apparently, hold a conversation with Jesus (along with Elijah), and since that meeting is recorded in the bible, and since Moses died long before the event, the disciples could not possibly have known him, so we can only assume that he told Jesus who he was.

they are definatley real!!!!!! my mum passed away in 1998 when i was 11 yrs old. i had a bad experience in 2006 and my relationship fell apart, i wished she could be there to help me and i cried myself to sleep... next thing i knew it was 1 am and she was stood in the middle of the room under the light she spoke to me but i couldnt hear her but from then on i know she is with me and i am stronger for it.....ive also spoken to her on ouiji board myself i believe she is stil here i have seen her!!!!!!!!!
dynomia, so you're 21 now, right? I'm sorry you lost your mum so young, but I'm a mum, and I hope you won't mind if I give you a little word of advice. Please don't use the ouija board. They're not good. If you feel your mum is with you, then she is. Just take comfort in your heart from that and let her be at peace. x
