Money for nothing

I have recently had some work done and paid by cheque. I know that the cheque has been processed and the money paid out. However, my bank balance has not been affected. This happened about 2 months ago and the money is still lying in my account. I know that I am not entitled to it, but how long do you think I should reasonably wait for it to clear?
