Music quiz- the one with the TRE clue
6 Answers
Around Christmas/early January there was a question on AnswerBank trying to identify a song (two words: 9 letters and 4 letters) by one of the 10 most successful artists ever. The clue was TRE.
There were many suggestions including Jailhouse Rock, Norwegian Wood, Crocodile Rock, Telephone Line etc, but no-one could see relevance of TRE clue. The questioner insisted the clue was definitely TRE not TREE.
Did anyone find out the answer?

Hello factor30. Yes, I am the guilty party who set the quiz for Children in Need, and the question was definitely TRE, with the answer 'Norwegian Wood' as smouse so rightly says.
The heading was songs by the ten most successful acts of all time, so didn't necessarily have to have been released as a single, just obviously attributable to one of those acts. It certainly proved the most difficult clue in the whole quiz, but hopefully didn't stop quizzers enjoying it.
