Prince Andrew finds that the UK rail service is a tad unreliable so, in one year, he manages to spend 325,000 of public money on air travel to get him round the country (32,000 for flights to St Andrews alone!!).

Shouldn't we plebs be eternally grateful to him for highlighting the shortcomings in the rail system of this country?

their is no way he would do that travelling on the railway he likes to go in style,,who is picking up the bill for it would never enter his fat head,,as long as he was comfortable,he should be made to pay it himself,,so much public money is wasted a lot of it we dont know about,,and the working man is just working to keep all the scroungers the hangers on and those getting sick benefit that are not sick...its about time the working man was rewarded for his efforts,,
Hear, hear - mike1222 & willowherb!
Hear hear from me as well
What?  A chap of such high social standing as Prince Andy having to travel by public plane?  I should have thought he ought to travel by chauffer-driven limosine, liveried gilded coach with plumed horses, or by private jet (with in-flight bar, bath and serving girls of course).  Good god, what's this increasingly bolshy country of ours coming to?
mike1222 is one of these people who think the Royals can do no wrong.   The other royals travel by train so why should the public be forced to pay for this creep.
oh absolutely, we do not need this cretin mixing with us mere mortals, we are not worthy

FAO Hopalong - You don't quite understand irony, do you? It is said that "irony is lost on the stupid" and you have just proved how true that saying is!!!!!!

Hopalong,  Do try to read the questions properly.  You have made out of context remarks about my question on Prince Harry in this section and insulted me, and now you are doing the same to mike 1222.

Mike1222 - Well said

The trouble with you FP and others like you is that the Royals can do no wrong. NO matter what they do then it's ok.   If I insulted you in your 'Harry' question then I apologise it wasn't intened to be insulting.  All I ask was if you supported Harry,  if you support the holocaust.  I know you don't.  And now it seems you support Andy using tax payers money for his own personal needs.

Agree with mike, i'm in full daily mail outrage mode on this.

its a F****** disgrace,

Disgusted

tumbridge wells

Yes it is a disgrace, especially when you see OAP's & the like, waiting at bus stops in the freezing rain & snow. As the song goes:

"Is there any justice in this world?"

Hopalong.  If you read  Mike1222's question PROPERLY you will see he is being ironic and that he is criticising  Prince Andrew.  That means he thinks Prince Andrew is doing wrong by using so much money.

If you read my answer PROPERLY you will see that I agree with mike 1222.  That is I also think Prince Andrew is doing wrong by using so much money.  So, in other words I agree that he ought to travel by train like everybody else.  ie  I DO NOT THINK PRINCE ANDREW SHOULD USE TAXPAYERS MONEY.  I am sorry to shout, but I am getting rather annoyed.

mike1222 said that irony is lost on the stupid.  I don't want to insult you, but PLEASE read the questions and answers properly.

Ok FP , Mike122 I stand corrected  my apologies
Thanks Hopalong.  No hard feelings at all.  Hope to meet up with you on future debates.  It's often easy to get things wrong.  I was just getting a bit angry.  I don't mean to be offensive.
I look forward to it FP and next time  I will read the messages propery (Spelling)
Rather than demonising the Royals, why don't we just treat them the same as everyone else? They shouldn't give more to the Treasury than anyone else with comparable assets/income and shouldn't receive any more either.
That way, Prince Andrew can travel however he likes and pay for it himself & the "scroungers" debate wil be over.
