How many people have started afresh in a new city, with new job by themselves??
Did you know people in the place which you moved to?
Did you find it hard/lonely? Or exciting??
Did you find a job first, then somewhere to live? Or a house then a job?

i came to a new country 5 years ago for study. after 2 years, i came to this country without knowing anyone for another new start, it is a mixture of exciting feeling and fears. i got job, new friends, bf ec. now but i feel the most hard part is the loneluness, missing your family and friends.
ideally, you should find a job and somewhere to live first then gradually build a new life.

I did exactly that after my marriage broke down. Left my job in London, sold my house in Lincolnshire and upped and moved to Norwich. I already had a job to go to and I lived with a friend for 6 weeks. When that went wrong, I commuted between my old house until the sale went through and work. Now bought my own place. I didn't know anyone (bar one person) when I came here, but now have lots of friends. I still miss "home" though, where my family and old friends are so I go back when I can.
I have done it several times. More recently with my wife.
Yes of course it is hard and lonely at first, but it is also exciting, and it is often easier to make friends than you think.
My moves were more often calculated risks, because of commitments I, in the main, made sure I had a job first, the rest was all part of discovering new and exciting things and people and learning about how you cope against adversity and challenges.
Fear of change should never hold you back.

I'd love to do it. I can't wait for my opportunity to get away from my city and go to pastures new. I dont have much keeping me where i am and like said in above posts, if it doesnt work, then you go back. and remember this saying, "strangers are just friends you havent met yet" All the very best with your move nannon.
