why is my cat drooling?

can anyone please tell me if there is something right with my cat as it as been drooling for the past few days. is it because of the hot weather or not.

I would say not - I think cats do this when they have issues in theor mouth or with their teeth .... have you checked her mouth - I may be wrong but I think you might find she has a sore mouth somewhere.....

Hi fabemmy....how old is your cat....drooling can be due to a number of things-from dental probablems,and foreign bodies in the mouth..to just plain contentment. I have had cats who drooled as soon as they were stroked-but this is likely to be present from a young age. If your cat is middle-aged or older it is most likely tooth or gum disease...the worst case scenerio is an oral tumour. I don't want to scare you,but these can worsen quite quickly. My cat also had this & as echokilo said, it turned out to be her teeth. She had to have several extracted at the vets. She was fine after that. Vet suggested dried food to keep her teeth healthy but try telling her that. lol
