Can any one suggest a brand/type of child seat that toddlers can't get their arms out of? I have tried a Britax and a Concorde X line. My 20 month old grand daughter can easily semi escape from both! She first did this on the motorway when she was just 15 months old and opened the rear door! (Moral: Use the child locks before you think you'll need them!)

Get one of those plastic freezer bag clip things and put that across the two straps just under her chin. She won't get out of that!
I think you can buy things to attach to the straps to prevent this. you could google it or try Mothercare or Halfords.
you can buy a clip thing to put across her straps. we used to put a pair of reins on my son first and attach them to the back of the seat then put the harness on so if he did unclip the harness he was still attached by the reins.

Thank you all. I will try the clip idea, though I am worried about the effectiveness of the straps if pressure comes to bear on them when in the wrong position. Guess the clip would fall off then though?
