Cot bumpers
I am currently sorting stuff for my baby's room (due end of June), and everywhere I've looked at cot bumpers it says that they aren't suitable when the baby can sit unaided, surely this would prevent baby from hitting her head on the bars if she fell back whilst sitting?
Can anyone tell me why this is?
Thanks

What amuses me is you buy a cot set which has bumpers for use between 0-6 months & a matching quilt which can't be used until 12 months+ so in theory they can't be used together.
Oh & I also read that you are not suppose to put cuddly toys in their cots as they can suffocate babies too.
Good luck with baby.
My son has just turned one and he has had a bumper in his cot since he was 6 week old! its his comforter now, it has a label on one side on he plays with it as he goes to sleep! we have never used blankets or quilts for ages, he has been in sleep sacks since he was about 4 month old, there really good! would definatly recommend them. you would be a nervous wreck if you listerned to all the stuff that your ment to do or not ment to do. i was at first, but you have just got to do what feels best yourself! listern to everyones advice then do what you want to do!!
good luck !!
There are said to be many risks when using cot bumpers such as increased risk of cot death due to restricted air flow, risk of suffocation from the cot bumper falling off, babies getting stuck between the bumper and cot bars and even babies climbing out of the cot using the cot bumper.
There is now a unique cot bumper on the market today, that eradicates all these risks by wrapping individually around each bar.
They solve all your worries whilst still keeping babies safe.
They are called 'bumpsters'
