Garden bench - best coating (wood stain)

Hello, whats the best coating to give a wooden garden bench. On the box it says 2 seater hardwood bench, made of acacia wood. It does also mention its been finished in teak oil. Does that mean it wont need to be stained for about a year, or do I still need to do it? But what is the best wood stain for waterproofing the wood and preserving it.

Re-application of more teak oil, once or twice a year.
