I mean, her best mate is found dead and they hardly mentioned that in the 2nd part... like, wouldn't that be the biggest lead they had?
Very disappointed so I was, but it seems to be the 'theme' with these two part dramas nowadays.
willow74 - oh please, go on: surely if somebody doesn't want to know the ending they won't click on the question!.
OBonio - on the whole have to agree about ITV's two part dramas: 3 hours is about 2 hours too much in my opinion - at a stretch I think they could be dealt with in an hour and a half.
However, that said - what happened?
SPOILER - DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW
After many accusations being thrown around by the dad, the step-dad, the mum, some random character thrown in to cast aspersions on step-dad's character the police find some BDSM website on dad's laptop (which he'd left at home the night she went missing). Pippa turned up out of the blue, pregnant and wanting forgiveness from her dad (the step-dad). She took a fancying to Luke's boss at the firestation. Went on the razz with him, ended back at his place. She found some kinky handcuffs, said she felt ill and wanted to leave and he hit her for being a tease. They follow Luke's boss the next day where he goes to some industrial warehouse and picks up a computer. They go inside and find a BDSM type place with loads of pictures. Luke's boss turns up with some petrol to torch the place and they get an admission out of him. Scarlett is with Luke on their way to Dover and her friend's death was an accident (they tied her up, she started struggling ('That's what they do, it's part of the fun') then stopped struggling.... Scarlett calls her dad from a service station on the way to Dover and tells him where they are. He calls the police who go to the warehouse and find Luke's boss hanging from the ceiling in a blaze of shame. The parents catch up with Luke and Scarlett who have a little chase over some fields towards the 'White Cliffs'. Luke stops, threatens scarlett with a flick knife, lets her go then drives over the cliff.
