What type of business's would require translations?

my girlfriend has started up a translation agency and we are sending out letters,business cards etc to get it going.
we have thought of most of the usual suspects such as law firms and oil companies and have also tried the local police unfortunately they had just chosen another company before we sent them the price list.


the agency doesnt use verbal translators but passes on documents to translators for translating.


any ideas would be more than welcomed.

my next door neighbour was a translater and most of the work they did get came from TV companys, but it is very hard to get in. as these companies already have tried and trusted people in place so you usely have to wait for an opening,
her husband was a sound engineer so alreadly had a foot in the door.
local councils and county councils and any goverment buildings.

Have you tried companies with subsidiaries abroad, as I work for an SMS Provider and we have sites in Spain and France and we use a translator for our website, for contracts etc. Sorry if I am stating the abovious!!

What about insurance companies and brokers (accidents abroad)

I woyulod suggest universities & colleges (people think they have their own language department so they won't need them, but actually they are often too busy to cope with additional work) , county and district council's and online businesses who export.
