Virus that wipes hard drives?
Is it possible for someone to hack into your PC via a internet forum site and insert a virus onto your hard drive that wipes it clean?
Is this classed as criminality on behlaf of the hacker i.e. can these people be traced and prosecuted, is it easy to trace?
Have been threatened by this sort of hacking activity and wnat to make its possible or not.

You do get file infectors and a certain infection or two that will cause your bog standard anti-virus and anti-spyware progs to delete important system files, thus rendering your computer unbootable.
They are easily removed with the right tools and instruction though.
