During my childhood I was told from my mother that you could get "cheese poisoning",too much vinegar would "dry my blood up", eating to much sugar would make me "catch diabetes" and that I should not wear a digital watch when I slept because of "the rays". Has anyone else had similar "advice" from their parents, and if so, what was it?

My mother had always told me that if i ate watermelon seeds, i would grow a watermelon in my stomach!!!! Could just be a North American thing!!!
So that's what happened Krissy.  I just thought I should go on a diet!
As well as the usual going out with damp hair/clothes causing you to 'catch your death', I offer this from my own dear late Mum: if you tickle babies' feet, it Sends Them Mad!!! (well, I suppose they wouldn't be best pleased...),
my nan told me the eating seeds one about eating apple cores!
