Can I go to bed now ?

Well what a night . It's still going strong with the press and the onlookers but I think it's died down enough for me to try to go to bed and get some sleep. I have to be up at 6 . I just thought I would let you know how exciting and dangerous my street is . Not that I would have thought that my next door neighbour , a quiet couple in my age range , would have been the cause of the commotion.
About 3 hours ago I heard an Alsation dog barking and looked out my curtain ...only to see the Armed Response Police team aiming their weapons at my next door neighbours house . The street cordoned off , 2 police dogs , 7 police vehicles and 2 armed units.
I am going to bed now , but will continue to tell you more in the morning , if I can sleep , I'm still shaking.

Well I've come to the conclusion that , either I naturally ignore odd noises on this street seeing as it's a noisy one , or I'm a bit deaf . The news this morning says the man , the hubby , was stood out in his front garden , next to my window as we live in terrace houses , stood out there waving and firing a rifle ! Then went back indoors and a man across the road rang the police and then the armed police siege began. All that happened while I was sat here , the thing that made me look out was the police dogs barking. Then once the police saw I was in they used my house as a go between front and back.

hope things have clamed down a bit now. was it on the news? or somewhere else?

Hi , yes it 's calmed down now , the police have gone as far as I know and the road is open as normal again. The local paper says a police statement says he has been arrested for firearms offences.
Hi lindapinda , no hun , not those people , they lived across the road . Last nights seige was the house next to mine , the hubby was arrested. My front window is on the front page of the paper and the web story as the photo they took of the police officer who is bringing out the siezed weapons , happened to be walking just past the front of mine at the time. At least it doesn't show my door and the house number !
