It's a very strange and frightening feeling.
I went to a club with some friends, not the kind of place I'd ever normally go and looking back I was probably one of the only people in there not on something.
Decided to leave as was a worried about some of the things which were going on and some of the attention I was getting.
I never drink that much and never get myself into anywhere near a state I can't get myself home safely.
I couldn't walk properly, was staggering and couldn't see very well (nearly fell off a dance stage until some nice soul grabbed me) trying to get out.
Not knowing there were two entrances I took the wrong one and went in the direction I thought was back to town and ended up staggering round a very bad area, by a building site and canal and all sorts.
Tried to call a taxi but I don't think they could understand what I was saying as I was slurring so much.
Finally managed to spot a main road and people and just kept going until I got back to town. It is a 10 min walk and it took me over an hour, some of it terrified in case someone dodgy was about and was crying walking down the road at one point - very unlike me as I'm usually very streetwise.
I kept dropping my card trying to get some money out for a taxi then got to the marshalls at the taxi rank who got me in a taxi. It went round a corner and I fell sideways and couldn't get back up again.
I've never ever felt like that, threw up loads when I finally got in. Not something I'd ever want to repeat.

It happened to me once about 8 years ago. Went out for an evening had had a glass and a half of wine as had only just arrived at a nightclub. Next thing i know i'm up dancing on the stage and all i can see is lights and blurry people! Staggered around for a few minutes before deciding to head home..lived 5 min walk away at the time took me 1/2 hr and had to hold on to lampposts to get home.
It was an awful feeling..and i know it wasnt drink as i'm quite tollerent with booze and am one of those people who never seem drunk even if they are. I was always cautious where i left my drink but im even more so now.
