Can anyone tell me if these are reliable and powerful enough drill for a DIYer. I have seen JCB heavy road construcution machinery but did not know they make drills as well.
Thanks for all your helpful answers. Knobster - It is true that I am not familiar with SDS. Its only when I could not hang the curtains and my friend told me that I might have concrete gurder so normal hammer drill may not work. And he recommended SDS.
If your window has a concrete 'girder', (actually a pre-stressed concrete lintel), it's probably not a good idea to drill into it. Depending on what weight it's supporting, there's always the chance that the holes could weaken it enough to result in it cracking.
Thant is a very valid point Heathfield has made.................... Problem is that I have already bought the drill. Never mind there would be other places to use it. I am sure Mrs keyplus will find other tasks.
