My friend has been charged with GBH with intent for biting someones lip while they were fighting, can anyone tell me how long he will be looking at getting, theres no evidence but he was picked out of the id parade
So your friend must have caused some very serious injuries. GBH with intent is an extremely serious offence; it's roughly akin to 'attempted murder' and carries the same maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The 'starting point' for a sentence relating to the least serious forms of GBH with intent is 4 years. Judges are advised to examine the circumstances and pass a sentence in the range 3 to 5 years. The starting point for the most serious forms of GBH with intent (unless a life sentence is appropriate) is 13 years (with a possible range of 10 to 16 years).
