Nooooo!!! The dye will take so much better if its got a bit of natural grease in it. Dont do it!!! ;)

I think you should really wash it the day before (apparently if you've just washed it then dyed it it can cause irritation on the scalp), but if you do wash it the same day then don't condition it.

In a salon colorant is applied to clients unwashed hair as the hair is more controllable for the process. After processing, the hair is shampooed and conditioned.
