cat having kittens

hi there, my cat has had kittens over the last 24 hours,they are at the moment in my living room, however i have another female cat that at the moment is staying in the kitchen,when would it be ok to let her in the living room with the other cat and her kittens,

I would not let her in for at least a week, or even more. The mother cat may get upset and kill her kittens, or the other one may try to get in and kill them, or distress the mother cat so much that she leaves her babies.
