After the BBC's hugely successful commentary on the opening ceremony in Beijing, the BBC have announced some changes.

Jeremy Paxman will replace John Motson as the Corporation's senior football commentator.

Mark Lawrenson will move to the Six O'Clock News.

The Newsnight slot will be filled by John Virgo and Dennis Taylor.

Racing will be hosted by Fiona Bruce while Willie Carson becomes the BBC's correspondent in Baghdad.
