Cheap Champagne/ Sparkling Wine

My husband has developed an expensive tast for champagne and sparkling wine! Is there anywhere I can buy it over the internet cheaply, such as at Calais prices?

The simple answer is no

 

You cannot bring in alcohol unaccompanied without paying UK taxes.

 

Get a cheap ferry or chunnel ticket and stock up in Calais. Even better, drive down to Reims (2 hours from Calais on the motorway, spend night in inexpensive chain hotel, visit several Champagne houses and buy your wine from the source.

 

There have also some very good deals at UK supermarkets on Champagne - because the overstocked for millennium. May be more.

 

Places like Oddbins have great deals on sparkling wines if you buy 6 - Mumm Napa Brut is cheaper in Oddbins than in the Mumm winery.

Alternatively you could ween him onto Spanish Cava, fantastic sparkling wines which generally cost no more that an average bottle of wine
