Slugs!!!!!!!

following on from tigger's thread below.....they are what do MY head in. Right now-with all the rain-the paths around here are full of the damn things........and they are a horrid,lurid orange colour.....a bit like this page-lol.....and they are huge!!...the size of my middle finger and fat!!....eeuuuwwww!!!

Awwww bez... that is horrible... I know I'm not fond of Mr & Mrs Slug but that sort of death is so horrible... I put down salt some 30 years ago when I first started gardening but when I saw the effect it had on the slugs, I was a bit disgusted with myself... it was dreadful.... I would rather tolerate them than do that to them....

My mum still enjoys telling my kids the story of when I was 3 and she came out in the garden to find me sitting happy as larry chewing on a slug

i pick them up in a plastic bag and feed them to the chickens or fish in the mornings

ROFL!!!! I caught my youngest doing that when he was about 3 as well. Next it was a woodlouse. I tried to get it out of his mouth, and just found a lot of legs on my finger - so he must've chewed on the juicy part!!!!! Euuuwww!

Salt leaves an awful mess though bez, they don`t really bother me if they are outside but a few months ago we found one in the dishwasher

I am actually quite jealous of slugs, they can go a lot faster than my bus in a rush hour traffic jam!
