We bought our daughter & I bought my husband PURE EVOKE 2 digital radios.

They are pricey, but the sound is amazing - no hissing & you get lots more interesting channels to listen to.

Also, the same daughter has a tiny DAB radio which is superb. She bought an adaptor to plug into her old AM/FM radio, making it DAB too.

I definitely think so. I have had mine for over a year and there's always something to listen to, whether it's fiction, biography, interviews, etc., and music stations to suit all tastes. I still listen to Radio 4 and 2, but they now have much better sound quality. They can be quite expensive, but I think they are worth every penny!! Have you had a look at http://www.digitalradionow.com/home.php and http://lovemyradio.com ?
In short, yes. The sound quality is excellent for both fm and am. I couldn't believe it when I heard my favourite am station in digital for the first time! Wide choice of channels, and prices are coming down too.
It is amazing, providing you are in an area where you can pick it up. A lot of the shops dont tell, or dont know, that coverage for DAB is not yet country wide. My sister bought a DAB radio from Dixons and only found this out when she got it home and tried to use it, it wouldnt work at all. Saw a report on Watchdog on TV where they went into lots of shops and asked if the radios would work anywhere, and were always told it would, but it aint true!

hopalong - Also, just wondered if you'd noticed the DAB Radio advertisements on the right hand side on this thread?
