On the University Of Glamorgan they have the following course;
BA [Hons] Media Production; Entry Requirements:
UCAS tariff: 200 points with at least 140 points from 6/12 unit GCE/VCE A level (including a B in relevant subject). Equivalent qualifications are also acceptable.
Can anyone help me understand this, what does it mean by 6/12? and what does [Hons] mean? In college i am going to be taking:
MEDIA PRODUCTION (MOVING IMAGE) BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA (Advanced - 2 years).
(i have before this been taking GNVQ ICT & AVCE IT.. i currently have low grade maths & English, both of which i am going to retake to get C grade of above, apart from that i have C GCSE grade in Media Studies).
What i am trying to figure out, is what exactly i need to do in order to gain enough grades to do the formentioned uni course, i will ask the student advisor but i am just trying ot think about this before hand.
Cheers for any answers :)

Basically you earn points with your qualifications, which add up to whether you can do the degree or not. Hons is short for Honours. (A more posh version of a BA- Batchelor of Arts.) Your Btec will give you a certain amount of points, as would any A Levels. You will get more points if you get Distinctions than if you get merits or passes in each unit. The moral or the story is, ALWAYS do your best work in your Btec, and always hand in assignments on time. I have failed so many people over the years, as they never completed my units, and this in turn stopped them from going to Uni!
The 6/12 part refers to GCE/AVCE.
I believe a GCE A level is made up of 6 units of study, whereas an AVCE is like a double A level and is made up of 12 units of study.
All that is irrelevant in your case, as I think your BTEC Nat Dip will get you enough points (as long as you do well) and it is in a relevant subject.
