what are the different genres of music?

This is an open-ended question, because as well as the main divisions - rock / pop / soul / classical, there are endless sub-divisions as well - melodic rock / hard rock / soft rock / AOR / and so on, Dance is the same - deep house / hard house / uplifting house / techno, the list does go on and on, but at least there are a few to be going on with.

Also a bit of Classical, Rock, Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Grunge, EBM

I dont like Rap, Ragga, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Jazz Funk, Disco,

I'd have said classical, jazz, blues & rock were the basic ones from which all else was derived, but that's only my opinion.
