Exhaust Pipe (??)

Hi everyone,

Somehow, my exhaust pipe (I think this is what it's called - it's the bit of the exhaust that sticks out of the car like a "tail") has fallen off somewhere (I swear I did not hear it!)
Anyway, what I would like to know is:
1) can I fit a new one without having to take it to a garage?
2) would it do any serious damage if I left it without a "tail" or pipe for a week or so until I can afford a new one?

Don't know if you can fit a new one, you don't seem to have any mechanical knowledge.

It could cause serious damage as you have lost an exhaust hanger, this could cause the rest of the exhaust system to drop off or break.

Any exhaust garage will fit a new tail pipe and new exhaust hangers for not much more than you would pay for a new tail pipe.

You need a new exhaust asap. The existing pipe is no longer protruding from the back of the car so exhaust fumes are being pumped out under the car and may enter it.

Also the heat of the gases could discolour that nice coloured bumper of yours.

Stop faffing about. Nip in to Kwik Fit pay the man, drive out with new tailpipe.
It will be garaunteed and cheaper than buying one from a dealer. With no hassle to you.

Did someone say Quick Fit?? They are FIT for ripping you off never mind fitting an exhaust.

Went to Kwickfit yesterday and they did fit a new backbox for 40quid so not too bad!
