Home delivery..

Just ordered my first online grocery home delivery! It was really very easy, happy I don't need to face the crowds! We do a months shopping at a time, so it's a chore! Anyone here regularly do their food shopping online?

Sachs, When you're tactile, there's something nice about handling things that you might buy, whether it's fruit, veg, books, clothes, anything.

I hardly ever buy books online. I like to mooch around the bookshop, have a coffee, flip the edges of the book, give it a good feel up before I buy it.

And much as I find shopping for food a bore, I like to handle things I'm going to buy to eat.

So the odd internet shop is okay, but not all the time.

Weeal, in Waitrose you can go to the shop, buy stuff, pay at the checkout, and then bugg*r off home and they will deliver it for you.

hey thats a cool deal joggiebottoms, and there I am trudging around with a loaded basket (cos Im so stupit I truly believe Im only going in for one item) then lugging it thro the rain and up the road

No I agree jogger! It was all packaged stuff, see above. Love browsing round Waterstones!! Got a few musty smelling lovely old books from a second hand sale. Who dosent like shopping! It's just the staple stuff that's a bore.

Yes I do and it's great, not having to queue, not having to carry anything and not having to face a sullen cashier.

ive gotta say, ive only used it a few times, but ive been impressed with the quality of fresh produce, and the use-by dates on dairy etc. no complaints at all so far, would defo recommend to anyone thinking about it

Sadly, I had a big Christmas shop from Tesco's last year, and when it came, EVERYTHING had to be eaten within 2 days of it arriving. This included seafood (prawns, dressed crab, etc), which should've been frozen and had a much longer period to be "eaten by", so I assumed I'd received some of the old stuff that was left. Even pre-packed cheese was almost out of date. I was so disgusted that I contacted the manager immediately, and I took the whole lot back. He apologised profusely, let me shop for what we needed (and of course, found stuff which was well in date) and then offered...a chicken as compensation! I won't have one of their home deliveries ever again.
