If my ex wife re marries, do I still pay the same maintenance
12 Answers
I have been paying maintenance to my ex wife every week and have the children stay with me on alternate weekends and some holidays. I am happy to pay my way for my children but now there is alternative financial help from her new husband, I would like to know if I can reduce what I pay. Many thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully reply.

I know that you should pay 15% of your income for one child and 30% for two children. But as she has a new husband he should be contributing to their financial wellbeing too. Why don't you discus paying the same but paying a % of it into your childrens bank account that they can only withdraw when they are 21yrs perhaps..
Totally agree with the replies, my ex won't pay as I am in another relationship, it disgusts me that he relinquished his responsibilites yet claims to love his daughter.
We are not well off and although my partner does support my daughter, it proves who is the better parent in my eyes.
Yet he turns up in designer outfits, holidays, expensive nights out and lives with and supports his partners child.
His argument is, is I left him and ruined his daughters life......Yes I left the control freak who was ruining our lives. My daughter was much happier once I had the guts to do it.
