im thinking about dying my hair black.  But when i get out of the shower and i let it dry, it gets all puffy in a way.  So if i dye it black will that weigh it down a little? Cause i dont want to have to keep puting stuff in it like gel/hairspray just to keep it from puffy up.

The dye may make your hair feel thicker or shinier AT FIRST but will soon feel exactly like normal. If your hair goes puffy then unfortunately that is the way your hair is. You can dry it straight, or use straighteners?
try using leave-in conditioner, as a little of this will weigh your hair down slightly without making it look limp. i'm convinced that dye will make little or no difference
dying your hair will make your hair dry so it will puff up more. try a relaxer instead (available from afro-carribean hair shop) this will make it less "puffy". two versions are available with lye and without lye. experiment with both to see what works for you. i'd like to see what happens so keep us posted.
