Bit tongue a while back - ulcer wont go !

Hi. A while back, perhaps 2 years or so, i bit the end of my tongue and apart from swearing obscenitiesm, it left a small "split pea" size lump (ulcer??) on the tip of my tongue. It didn't bother me for a while (was still there, but wasn't a problem), until i did the exact same thing again last Monday ! - just as the lump was getting smaller !

Because the lump is still there when i'm eating i sometimes catch it, which means it's never going to go away. I have tried putting bonjella on it, salt etc but i want something to dry it up (or whatever you call it!).

Any suggestions of what i can put on it to help it ?

It's a little lump the size of half a pea (maybe about 3 mm) right on the tip of my tongue !

Hi Andy, things in the mouth always take a bit longer to heal as it is always damp, but the fact that you have had this over 2 years isnt right...im not saying its something sinister, but I really would go to the doctors to get rid of it once and for all...good luck!

lol!, the reason i've had it 2 years is that i keep on biting it !! - must have bitten it 20 times now !. But just as it was going (hadn't bit it for a few months) i had to go and bite it again !! - dam cornflakes !

Any ideas what i could put on it ?

You and them damn cornflakes lol! I would suggest doing a salt rinse with warm water after every meal, something else you could try is oral B mouthwash, its for many things including usage after surgery in the mouth (tooth extractions etc) The blue one is better than the red, its a miracle worker I tell ya!

Ah thnaks lil ! - i'll give that a try. Yep and here's me thinking cornflakes were good for ya ! hmmm :(
