Light Bulbs

Are these new Low Energy Light Bulbs going to take over from the 'normal' light bubs we use now? Does this mean we won't be able to buy and use the old ones, or does it mean the Powers that Be would 'rather' we use the Low Energy ones. Will we still be able to buy and use our 'old' ones ??

As LEDs take over from incandescent bulbs in places where they are used as indicators (traffic lights etc) they will become as scarce as hen's teeths.
I might just follow the example of your mum - old or new.

Low energy light bulbs are fine but the light output isnt suitable in some decorative fittings such as cut glass or crystall chandeliers.
A better alternative is the new halogen ranges. The lamp looks like the old traditional type but has the latest halogen technology inside, 30 % energysaving by using a lower wattage to generate the same light output and longer life. Try supreme-imports.co.uk they seem to have all the latest technology on many products
