Turned 3in1 on and was informed that all 4 cartridges needed replacing! Thought this was unusual, but changed them and then was told that they weren't genuine and had to replace them. I have used the same type of compatibles since I bought the machine 6 months ago, so I am very suspicious that there is something else not right, but I can't work out what. Any ideas?

Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling, might just sort it out.
My Epson always comes up with a message saying "not genuine cartridges" but I just press continue and it works ok.

Thanks Trish, I've tried that but it still comes up with the empty cartridges sign and I don't get the option to continue, that's why I think there's something else involved.
I have the same problem now and again, i go to change cartridge and just take each one out shake them to make sure there is ink in them and just put them back in, then press charging ink. it always works for me.
Forgot to say then unplug it from the mains for a few secs then plug back in, that will free it up, it should be fine, just had to do it to my 6050 and its ok now.

Thanks Marvelman, tried all that but to no avail. Think this could be something serious. Liz
