Missing Desktop Background

Each time I start my PC my selected PC desktop background has turned into a plain blue one! I reset the picture I was using (a jpeg) and apply as requested, and all is fine until I restart my PC. Any ideas how to rectify this annoying problem. Thank you

have you moved the image? it may be a broken link

right click anywhere on your desktop. on the drop down menu click on properties, then click on desktop. Underneath the picture of your screen is a list under background. If this has none highlighted then your desktop will be a plain colour, blue in your case. Go down the background availables to see if your picture is listed. If it is then highlight it and press apply.
