on unemployment benefits knowing they spend all their time boozing and behaving like a slob?

A neighbour about 22/25 years old near me has not worked since arriving in our road 4 years ago.
Him and his g//f get their rent and council tax paid, no doubt child benefit (they have a 4yr old child) and are just noisy and abusive.

He seems fit and healthy as they can drink, smoke etc.

It makes me mad that he is getting away with it, I thought the job centre stops paying after so long if they dont make an effort to find work..

if they claim JSA one of them should be actively seeking work.

however.. drinking, smoking and being a pain in the butt are not benefit offences.
agree with sara here, being a slob is not really a shoppable offence, for all you know he may also be actively seeking work as well by phone and post

This is why GB ltd has no money in the coffers to ride out the credit crunch.
I feel sorry for the OAPs who will get very little help to see the other side of the largest recesion on record , that will start to hit the u.k. in the next 12 months. The world is betting on it at the moment. Just look how weak the is at the moment.
Hint .... Oil is trading at $112 (Brent crude) ...with the ongoing problems in Russia and Georgia , I see $175 by Xmas. Watch the energy prices then.
Anyone riding the beneifts system is in for bumpy ride ...ha ha

I didn't mean shopping him for drinking, smoking and being a slob, just want to know why he has been on the dole for so long when he is fit for work.
Why go to work if everything is paid for ?
as a family they will not pay rent ..council
tax and then get maybe 130 a week to
live on ..so probably not paid a lot or if
anything in to the system ..
They need a kick up the backside ..go to
work ..have some pride ...be a person ..
so easy ...........but hard for some .............
well this comes down to self-respect. if they have none they'll be happy with their lot, and will be happy if their kids reach the same dizzy heights....
my brother lost his job 6 months ago and has been applying for everything under the sun regardless of pay, he still cant find a job and it quite depressed about it.
I was out last week and saw a lad that
was always in the snooker room ..no way
was he going to work ...he now has a good
job and his own family ..so there is hope
for all ...
Can think what you could shop him for. The authorities know he is claiming benefit and slobbish behaviour isn't an offence.

Unfortunately.

cazzz1975,

there's lots of jobs available if you don't mind getting your hands dirty, or working in a supermarket, loads and loads available and you can have pride in yourself.
Question Author
slobbish behaviour isn't an offence.

I have already said that Ethel.

Maybe I could find out why he is still on the dole after 4 Years?
There are loads of jobs available, but an employer can pick and choose who he or she employs.

If they can't fill an application form in legibly, have a bad attitude at the interview, they haven't a hope in hell.

Throw in a conviction for theft, sexual offences or other unsavoury behaviour, not a hope.

Yes, I know there are lots of 'bad turned good' people out there, who have crawled out the pits of hell to lead a good, productive and wholesome life and everyone deserves a chance...
rtaxron, he has applied for them including cleaning jobs, warehouse jobs, shop jobs, driving jobs ect ect....all minimum wage

the jobs are not as easy to find as you may think
Ooops! Cazzz - I wasn't referring to your brother in any way.

Sorry if I gave the impression that I was.
manufacturing has collapsed in birmingham, as a result there are a lot more people on the dole in birmingham so there are a lot more applicants applying for the same vacancies.
no probs ethel
Question Author
Is it because its minimum wage cazzz1975?

No disrespect to your brother, but if he was desperate enough, I am sure he could find a job?

"he has applied for them including cleaning jobs, warehouse jobs, shop jobs, driving jobs ect ect....all minimum wage
