Greek Islands

Can anyone recommend which are the best Greek islands to go and stay on? Looking for somewhere quiet, plenty of flora, sleepy villages, hidden coves. Just somewhere very chilled out and mellow. Thanks.

I am going to Crete in less than 2 weeks and I can't wait. We are staying in a place called Elounda which is a small town. There are other towns nearby, bus excursions and boat trips go from here and Ag Nik, plenty to do but also very chilled out. I went last year and it was the most relaxing and best holiday I ever had. So good I'm going back to the same apartments in the same town again - if that's not a good recommendation for the place I don't know what is!

My Grandaughter and friend have just returned from Poros and said it was heavenly. Only one hour by ferry from Athens but peaceful and fits the bill for what you are looking for. Google it and see for yourself. just one complaint. Mosquitos so go prepared with repellants.

Corfu is really beautiful, green and Corfiotes are very friendly. We have been repeatedly. Very quiet if you pick the right resort, livelier in others

About 9 years ago, we went to the north coast of Corfu and found it Idyllic. We stayed at Acharavi which was quite a small village sandwiched between two larger places which did have more night life.

We hired a motorbike and explored quite a bit of the Island.

Acharavi was perfect for us.

Haven't been back because we like to go to different places, but having been to Kos and Zante, I certainly would not go back to those two, but would go back to Corfu.

Anti-Paros is a lovely little island just off the coast of Paros (well it would be ). It is very quiet with few cars and lovely beaches. Enough accomodation ( ie not too much) and a big camp site. Did I mention the nudist beach ...........

cofu is lovely ! me and my hubbys first holiday 6 years ago . we stayed at roda not too loud and not too quiet just right we dont like the buzzing nightlife !!! just a meal each night few drinkkies and back home ! if u go there go to maggies ?? and have the big one grest big fich and chips and if ya eat ot all u get a free tshirt ! my hubby just about done it and he can eat .also on the last day we got kicked out our rooms t 12 and didnt wanna pay to hire the room as our flight wasnt untill late that nigt so we hired a car for the same price threw our suitcases in and went down the island to kavos !! beaultiful !
