Russian assassin in Corrie !!

Shock horror!! Just seen ''The Sum of all Fears'' based on the Ted Clancy novel and was stunned to see Michael Byrne (Ted Page - Gails' gay father) playing a Russian assassin and CIA mole in The Kremlin!!
OK - I know he's an actor and takes whatever roles available to him, but I did find this extreme contrast rather amusing.

He was a nazi in one of the Indiana Jones films too - the first I think.

Michael Byrne is a fine actor who has appeared in many films (The Eagle has Landed, A Bridge too Far etc) often cast as a nazi ,and tv, notably The Professionals Secret Army and Waking the Dead. I suspect that Corrie might be a bit of a comedown but if it pays the mortgage!
