Family Bathroom
9 Answers
Is a family bathroom an old tradition in our ever increasingly fast lives.
I own a 3 bed detached property with ensuite and am considering putting a bath in the ensuite (with shower attached to bath taps) and a walkin shower in the main bathroom.
Would this put you off buying my house?

Usually people prefer a Shower Enclosure in an ensuite and a bath in the main bathroom. Maybe consider putting a shower over the bath in the main bathroom or even a 'P' shaped shower bath in then you have the best of both!
As jno says you don't want visitors going through your bedroom to use a bath!

Thanks for you answer hayleyj.
Unfortunately this issue we have is that the ensuite is bigger than the main bathrrom. There is no room for a bigger than standard bath in the main bathroom and cannot fit a 'p' bath either, whereas we can fit a nice double ended bath in the ensuite.
Also we cannot fit a nice double shower in the ensuite but could fit this in the bathroom.
To leave it as standard seems a big of a waste of space and a compromise on size of appliances.

I'm afraid I agree with the other answers too. I wouldn't say it would definitely put me off buying a house if I loved everything else but people with children are always going to prefer a bath in the main bathroom. You could always have a bath in both. In my opinion an ensuite is a special bathroom for the adults of the house only and a child free zone! I wouldn't want to be bathing my daughter in my ensuite over the house bathroom
