When Blair was P.M the cry went out that he was away on foreign trips sorting out the World's woes and ignoring the troubles at home, now Brown's in charge the cry goes out that he should be in Georgia getting ignored by the Russians.
We're in the grip of a binge drinking epidemic because booze is to cheap but were also in the grip of an obesity crisis even though food's become too expensive.
House price were rising and it was a crisis now house prices are falling and it's a crisis.
If only people could face one way, or even better think for themselves rather than let the media do it for them.

If you are lucky you may be able to gain an insight into what may really be the truth. I love the glaring headlines about the housing / property crisis: "prices plummet!!!!"..only to find that whatever drop there is ,it is no more that .3% or some other idiotic figure.

Who said this?

Part of the reason of a booze culture is due tot he price, but only part.
House price were rising and it was a crisis now house prices are falling and it's a crisis. Yes it was a crisis when house prices increased so much, because any sensible economist would tell you that there was only one way prices would go. Sadly, people chose to ignore this and mortgaged themselves up to the hilt and hence there is a crisis since they are facing negative equity.

Who said he should be in Georgia? several papers have said this and also "The Wright Stuff" the bit about the Russians ignoring him (and everyone else) is my own observation of what's happening.
OEV I don't doubt your analysis of the housing issue (but that's not the question) the question is a critique on the very poor qualitiy of the British media, as pasta succinctly points out.

>>now Brown's in charge
Really, when did that happen !!
I thought the person "in charge" of something was supposed to try to fix things, tell people what they are doing, listen to what the public wants, order other people to sort things out.
I dont see brown doing ANY of that.
Well said. We are supposed to have free speech in this country, and i hate him. He is the most useless politician we have ever had. I heard that as he was the excquecher he knew this country finance's were about to go down hill, yet he sat on his backside and did nothing, just like he is doing. Theres these bloody politicians complaining about second homes, yet we can hardly afford one home! I think its disgusting the way politicians are.
And, we are rip off Britain. Why is it we pay too bloody much for absolutely everything? Food, petrol and everything else is cheaper in the rest of the world, yet we pay out the nose for it. We are quite literally been taken for mugs. This pillock needs sacking, and fast

I'm not so sure about that Adam, we appear at the moment to be coping better than the rest of Europe with the global credit crunch, and are things really that much cheaper abroad? You have to consider the wages available locally to make a comparison I feel.
we do pay alot for petrol but it's generally accepted that alcohol is too cheap, not by me though.
I just think it's odd, people were desperate for blair to go, and Galoway said that the electorate were tired of politicians in the Blair mold (have i spelt that right?) now we have Clegg and Cameron 2 Blair clones.
Brown's problems will ease when the party starts doing what it's supposed to do and attack the opposition, he's certainly nowhere near as bad as John Major

Hey, is that Gordon Brown you're on about?
Well, he might not be popular now, but he must have been popular in the eighties. There was a song about him, by The Stranglers .........
♫.....Gordon Brown texture like sun
.........Lays me down with my mind she runs
........Throughout the night
.........No need to fight
.........Never a frown with Gordon Brown .....♫
Sorry ........ not funny ........ I'll get my coat .......
