Hi.....any ideas....

Which 70's kids show was submitted to the BBC as a rude joke by some university media students but was innocently broadcast by the naive controllers at the time and became a firm favorite with giggling kids everywhere??

It's not Tiswas!

There is a myth about Captain Pugwash - about how there were characters called Master Bates and Seaman Staynes etc - thats been doing the rounds for years, but that wasn't what the characters names really were

It certainly was not Pugwash - that was first broadcast in the 1950s and there was nothing intentionally or unintentionally rude about it.

The creator sued a newspaper for stating the myth that there was double entredes in it as a fact.
Once and for all, Captain Pugwash's men were...

Pirate Barnabus
Pirate William
Master Mate
and Tom the Cabin Boy

William is often called Willie (or should that be spelt Willy?)
