cyprus. prices of fags and stuff

Going to Cyprus for a holiday. Is it better to buy your cigarettes and rolling tobacco in the uk duty free before you go or wait until you get there. Regal and GV

Are you going to the South? e.g Limassol, Paphos, Ayia Napa-  if so, there won't be any duty free when you leave the UK, as Cyprus (South) is now a member of the EU.

I was in Limassol in December and a packet of 20 Marlboro Lights was around �2.70 sterling, so it is still cheaper than the UK.

 

In fact, I went to the North (Kyrenia etc) for a day trip and a packet of the same Marlboro was even cheaper - about �1.50 so buy your fags over there, whichever part you go to!

I didnt think anyone was going to answer! Just goes to show some folk go to cyprus and it hasnt turned into a no smoking island.
